Hello and welcome to Dawn Couch Designs!
I’m thrilled to share my story, including my passion for crafting wreaths and how this creative outlet has transformed and saved my life.
Throughout my life, I’ve battled with depression and anxiety. I experimented with various coping strategies, but none provided me with the balance and relief I desperately sought from my overwhelming emotions. In moments of despair, I often turned to my old companions, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, hoping to numb my feelings.
During the Covid pandemic, I faced a “perfect storm.” I was navigating early menopause while suddenly becoming a homeschooling mom to a fourth grader with special needs, all while trying to hold together a marriage that was crumbling. My reliance on alcohol spiraled out of control, leading me into a deep depression and a struggle with isolation, a challenge many faced. Instead of addressing my issues, I only fueled my addiction. In March 2021, when I could no longer endure another day in the same cycle, I decided to seek treatment.
As part of my recovery and healing process from alcohol addiction I discovered a deep love for crafting. Particularly hand crafted home decor and wreaths. I channel my energy into creating these lovingly handcrafted designs and in my commitment to help others I donate the profits to a charity that is near and dear to my heart.
